History:

Golden North is an ice cream manufacturer in Australia. It is headquartered in Laura, South Australia, and has been in industry since 1923.

The Golden North trade name was adopted in 1948. The industry was acquired by Farmers Union in 1972, and then in 1991, it became a subsidiary of National Foods.

In 2001, a crowd of South Australian investors brought the commerce back under local private ownership. The present managing director is Brenton Higgins. In 2006, they expanded their plant.

Their flavors comprise a distinctive honey ice cream.

Besides manufacturing ice cream under the Golden North brand, they create generic brand ice cream for auction in supermarkets.
