HOMEGROWN Welsh oranges are now being used to prepare flavours bespoke ice cream commercially for the first time.
When Welsh ice cream makers Heavenly of Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, were just missing an orange variety, gardeners for nearby Aberglasney Gardens stepped in for assistance.
The 10kg of oranges, representing the full crop produced at Aberglasney this year, were prepared for ice cream approximately as soon as they were picked from the tree.
