Unilever has acquired Russia's largest ice cream company 'Inmarko' which is a leading ice cream maker in eastern and central Russia which has a turnover of nearly 115m (86.5m) in 2007. Inmarko has three factories in Tula, Novosibirsk and in Omsk that employs more than 4,500 people. According to Unilever's President for Foods; Vindi Banga, Inmarko is a great brand which is well recognized by Russian consumers. He also added that "We will put Inmarko at the heart of our ice cream business in Russia, build on its successful strategy, powerful portfolio and great talent and know-how. At the same time we will be looking together for opportunities to enrich and build up its competitiveness with Unilever's global scale and category expertise".
