Dondurma is the name commonly referred in turkey. Dondurma is a Turkish ice cream made up of goat milk using traditional methods. Dondurma ice cream was first originated in the regions of turkey called kahraman marash. Two features used to describe Turkish ice cream, the texture and the resistance of melting. Dondurma is the toughest and chewier ice cream comparable to sundaes, gelato or any other commercial ice creams.
In some places, dondurma is referred as Maraş dondurması, which contains more salep than usual. The ice cream is tougher and stickier and even requires knife and fork to eat.
